As a Senior Manager, Compensation on the People Operations team, you will provide your compensation expertise - enabling HubSpot’s growth. Your skills should include consultation, collaborative problem solving and expertise in helping HubSpot’s Product Pillar (e.g., engineering, UX design, product development, software development, etc.) In this role, you will also apply a critical eye on all compensation processes and lead the team in short- and long-term operational improvement projects. This role will build collaborative partnerships across the business to deliver innovative solutions for compensation, total rewards, and broader HR initiatives; reinforcing the company’s growth strategy to support attracting and retaining the best talent in the industry. This includes supporting the development, implementation, communication and administration of innovative compensation programs and policies. Programs and policies may incorporate job architecture, short and long-term incentives, reward and recognition programs, benchmarking and survey analysis, emerging trends, new technologies and compensation training.

Responsibilities

  • Support the design, communication and implementation of compensation programs and processes that are used across HubSpot globally.
  • Build strong relationships with Finance, Legal, Recruiting, HR Business Partners and Business Leaders within the Product Pillar (Engineering, Product, UX) and beyond.
  • Provide consultation and partnership to identify needs and priorities; including conducting market research, internal analysis, establishing design principles, outlining implications through modeling, determining employee and cost impacts, and creating communications to the business.
  • Partner with the DI&B team to ensure we monitor and measure our programs to prevent bias in our strategies; aligning equal pay principles.
  • Support the Annual Compensation Review process and all related work streams providing leadership within the Product Pillar.
  • Influence the direction and design of innovative solutions for compensation programs by understanding the business, anticipating and diagnosing functional needs.
  • Maintain current knowledge of legal and market topics to ensure compliance including Equal Pay, minimum wage, living wage and FLSA.
  • Analyze market data, review job documentation, enabling management to make informed pay and promotion decisions.
  • Analyze data from global compensation surveys for market pricing, salary structure developments, and special reviews.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Relevant experience within a global compensation function with extensive knowledge of compensation practices and theory; including experience in compensation program design and project management.
  • Experience supporting Engineering, UX and product development client groups.
  • Proven track record of designing and implementing pay & equity structures in global, publicly traded companies.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and consulting skills with the proven ability to build collaborative partnerships within HR and with Business leaders to recommend compensation solutions that solve business problems.
  • Ability to effectively communicate complex concepts in simple terms to various audiences.
  • Advanced spreadsheet analysis with strong Excel/Google suite skills with the ability to build audience-specific presentations
  • Proven analytical, problem-solving, and financial modeling skills, with an attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to organize and accomplish objectives autonomously and proactively navigate within a growing organization.

Cash compensation range: 146000-234000 USD Annually

The cash compensation above includes base salary, on-target commission for employees in eligible roles, and annual bonus targets under HubSpot’s bonus plan for eligible roles. In addition to cash compensation, all HubSpotters are eligible to participate in HubSpot’s equity plan to receive restricted stock units (RSUs). Some roles may also be eligible for overtime pay. Individual compensation packages are based on a few different factors unique to each candidate, including their skills, experience, qualifications and other job-related reasons.
